Prologue made a version for the title credits of the wonderful pirate series Black Sails, and I was commissioned to make a custom type for the credits. Based on handwritting from old letters and cartographic maps, made with calligraphic pens and brushes, I designed a rough, assymetrical and old fashion type with flourishes as ornaments, complemented with icons rescued from old maps and other cartographic sources.
I want to say that this is one of my very favorite works about type, unfortunately, those ones were not used as the final version, just the icons were recovered for the final end credits.
